Vehicle insurance limits should be raised

Dear Editor,

I refer to the letter written by Mr Bishwa Panday in relation to the limits of insurance coverage for vehicles on the road. The contents of that letter are alarming to say the least.  I cannot believe that a person can drive a vehicle, especially speeding mini-buses, with limits as low as $20,000.  These limits should be raised immediately, even higher than what Mr Panday suggested.

I also want to inquire, Editor, whether there are no licensing requirements for persons selling insurance.  I raise this question because auto dealers are selling insurance on behalf of insurance companies and in the process, they are misleading the public.  Insurance companies that are complicit in this should have their licences withdrawn.

Yours faithfully,
P Khemraj
