Dear Editor,
Today [Thursday], on the East Coast at Beterverwagting, I witnessed a heart-breaking situation. On the side of the roadway, a foal was standing over its mother who had obviously been killed by a vehicle since the day before. It was as if it was willing her to get up and walk again. It was truly heart-breaking. I do not know how long it will stand there and I wish the owner would do right and take care of the young animal.
