How can government prosecute NIS defaulters when UG is one of them?

Dear Editor,

A few days ago, you carried an editorial on the financial state of the NIS as was reported by its Chairman, and suggested that it may need a blood transfusion. I would humbly add instead, ‘a heart transplant,’ given the contributions owing by various entities, most notably the UG which was revealed in the recent UWI audit.

How can the NIS prosecute those organizations for non-payment when the government itself (UG) is also in default? It was definitely the wrong prescription.

Yours faithfully,
