Bush Lot horse race meet set for tomorrow

Over 50 horses are expected to participate in tomorrow’s  Bush Lot United Turf Club one-day horse race meet at Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast Berbice.

Some nine races are listed on the day’s programme of events with over $8.5m in cash prizes and trophies at stake.

One million, two hundred thousand dollars of that money, with a trophy thrown in to boot, is earmarked for the winner of the feature event, for horses classified ‘B’ and lower, over a distance of 1400M while the event for the three-year-old Guyana and West Indies-bred horses, over 1400m will have at stake $500,000  and a trophy. Horses classified D and lower will compete for $450,000 and a trophy over a distance of 1400M while animals classified F and lower will race over a distance of 1200m for the $400,000 and trophy first prize.

The G class race over 1200M, has at stake $350,000 and a trophy while an additional $350,000 and a trophy will be awarded to the winner of the Guyana-bred three-year-old horses who will compete over a distance of 1400M.

Class horses will race over 1200m for $200,000 and a trophy while the  J class event will see competition for the top prize of $150,000 and a trophy over a distance of 1200M.

The K class event over 12000m has at stake the sum of $120,000 and a trophy over 1200M.

Top individual performers will also receive trophies compliments of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.

Race time is 12:30 hrs.

Some of the horses who are expected to be on show are Score’s Even, California Strike, The Message, Technology, Grande Roja, Got to Go, Home Bush Baby, Sleeping In Town, Settle In Seattle, Third World, Top Of the Line, Captain Crook, Windy War, Serenity, Storm In a Tea Cup, It’s my Turn, Silent Lizzy, Another Jet, I want Revenge, Who is on The Case, Wild Grinder, Rosanna, Wonder Flower,  Gold Rush, The Girl Them Sugar, Indian King, Fresh Again, Ameera’s Joy, Karina, De Gump, Alana, Secretariat, Mr. Kool, Flying Object and Pixie Fire.
