Ramdhanis sweep badminton singles titles

National junior player Narayan Ramdhani and his sister Priyanna Ramdhani won the men’s and women’s singles titles of the GUMDAC Open badminton tournament which ended on Friday at the Queen’s College courts.

In the men’s singles final Narayan Ramdhani defeated Nicholas Ali 21-16, 13-21, 21-16 while Priyanna Ramdhani defeated Ambika Ramraj 21-6, 21-9 in the women’s final.

Following the conclusion of the finals, Headmistress of Queen’s College Jackie Benn presented trophies and medals to the winners, runners up and losing semi-finalists.

The top placings are as follows: men’s singles: 1st: Narayan Ramdhani, 2nd: Nicholas Ali, 3rd: Darell Carpenay & Jonathan Mangra.
Ladies singles: 1st:  Priyanna Ramdhani, 2nd:  Ambika Ramraj, 3rd: Nadine Jairam & Arian Kayume.
