Port Mourant gearing up for Guyana Cup on Easter Sunday

An excess of $20M will be up for grabs when the Port Mourant Turf Club in Collaboration with Jumbo Jet Auto Sales presents the Guyana Cup fever on Easter Sunday.

Nine races are carded for the event which according to one of the organizers, Compton Sancho will be one of the biggest horse racing meet in Port Mourant’s Turf Club history. $2M will go to the stable owners of the winner of the feature race (B& Lower1500m), the second prize will be $1M while the third prize stable will pocket $500,000.

The  other eight races are 3 Years West Indies Bred (1200m), 4 Years Old (1600m), E & Lower (1000M), G & Lower (1200M), 3 Years Guyana Bred (1000M), H & Lower (1000M), I and Lower (1000M) and J,K,L and Lower (1000M).

All races will be run under the rules of the Guyana Horse Racing rules and horses are subject to reclassification pending to the results of any race meeting prior to this meet.
