GT Bannas defeat Floodlights at softball

The visiting GT Bannas softball team from Canada defeated Floodlights Softball Team by 68 runs Friday night at the Everest Cricket Club ground in a specially arranged match in honour of the birth anniversary of Trophy Stall’s Ramesh Sunich.

GT Bannas won the toss and batted scoring 258-8 with S. Ramnauth 50, N. Khan, 36 and B. Doodnauth 20 the principal scorers.

Bowling for the Floodlights XI, R Boodraj captured 3-50 and R. Ramchand 3-54.

Chasing 259 for victory Floodlights crashed to 190 all out with I. Mohammd, 69, the top scorer.

Also among the runs were Ricky Deonarine with 25 and Sunich who was unbeaten on 15 at the end.

N. Khan was named man of the match.
