Singh attending baseball congress in Japan

President of the Guyana Baseball League Robin Singh, who is attending the International Baseball Federation’s XXVII Ordinary Congress in Japan was expected to make a strong presentation to the COPABE (Americas Confederation) to introduce the game in all regions of Guyana through an after school programme.

The three-day congress, held at the Grand Prince Hotel, New Takanawa in Tokyo, was hosted by Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB).

This is the final congress of IBAF as a body separated from the International Softball Federation (ISF) before the two international federations merge into the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).

Singh was also expected to represent Guyana yesterday at the official Olympic campaign launch where the new body will make a major announcement regarding the bid for inclusion at the 2020 Olympic Games at a media conference in Tokyo.

The announcements will be of interest to baseball and softball fans, senior and junior players and clubs and competitions worldwide. A new logo, theme and the website www.playball2020.com will be introduced as well.
