Coomacka among teams through to quarter-finals

Coomacka compliments of a Dorwin Daw second half strike in the 18th minute edged Speightland 1-0 Saturday night when the round of 16 matches of the Guinness Greatest of the Streets Linden Edition commenced at the Wisroc/Amelia’s Ward Bus Park.

Also winning Saturday night by a similar margin were Wisroc, who edged Classic Six 1-0 through an Orande Wills eight minute strike  and Half Mile/One mile who needle Cherokee Park compliments of a Steve Brewley second half conversion in the 14th minute.

Silent Assassins, also needled Alikyu 1-0 but on penalty kicks after regulation and extra time failed to separate the two sides.

Averell Johnson gave Silent Assassins the brief lead through a sixth minute conversion while Romain Haynes quickly equalized for the eventual losers in the seventh minute.

T.L.C. Shipping’s Russians overcame The Amazings 2-1 through strikes on either side of half-time from Shaun Daniels and Terrence Brown in the third and 12th minutes respectively. Errol David was on target in a losing cause for The Amazings in the fifth minute.

Star boys defeated Trainline Warriors 2-1 by way of penalty shootout after a winner was unable to be produced during the regulation and extra time.

Lynden Nicholson gave Trainline Warriors the early lead in the second minute only for Star Boys to find the equalizer in the 13th minute through a Romell Mathews effort.

Silver Bullets, through strikes from Robin Adams and Dishawn Freeman in the ninth and 17th minutes correspondingly defeated Hardknocks 2-0 and in the final game of the evening, Unique Unknowns defeated Minibus 3-1.
