GCB U19 Inter County competition bowls off today

Berbice will take on the President’s XI while Demerara will oppose Essequibo when the Guyana and Trinidad Mutual Fire and Life Insurance Company (GTM) in collaboration with the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) U19

Inter County, three-day competition bowls off today at two venues.

At the Everest Cricket Club ground, Berbice, led by Shawn Perreira will oppose the Akasha Persaud’s President’s XI while the strong Demerara team, led by Travis Persaud, will oppose the Cinderella County team which will be led by Ricardo Adams, at the  Wales Community Development Centre ground.

20130424GTM LogoThe competition will be contested in a round-robin format and representatives from GTM along with GCB executives will meet the players  at the Everest Sports Club today from 9:30 to officially declare the tournament open.

Teams (President’s XI)  Akasha Persaud (captain), Ryan Shun, Rativ Balgobin, Asif Alehi, Danesh Mangal, Anthony Bophdeo, Martin Pestano-Bell, Yekinie Favourite, Arif Chan, Hakeem Hinds, Niall Smith, Devon George, Keann Harry, and Akesh Jagroo. The coach is Adrian Amsterdam and the manager is David Black.

(Demerara): Travis Persaud (captain), Bryan Sattaur, Chandrika Persaud, Deonarine Seogobin, Andrew Gibson, Kamesh Yadram (Vice captain), Kemol Savory, Steven Sankar, Devon Lord, Stephon Brown, Dexter George, Bernard Bailey, Kevin Paul and Shivram Persaud. The coach is Quesi Nedd and the manager is Robert ‘Pacer’ Adonis.

The standby players are Avinash Wagid, Nicholos Cameron, Karamchand Ramnarine, Avishkar Sewkaraan, and Dillon Joseph.  The coach is Renwrick Batson and the manager is Julian Cambridge.

(Essequibo): Ricardo Adams, Ricardo Peters, Mark Gonsalves, Herry Greene, Wazeem Karoon, Rajiv Balgobin, Paul Williams, Avinash Persaud, Andy Dass, Parmesh Parsotam, Kemo Paul, Placid Edwards, Raj Parbattie and Shivindra Hemraj. The standby player is Mohamed Hassan while the coach is Forbes Daniels and the manager, Nazeer Mohamed.
