GSL/Yolo Entertainment to stage 10/10 competition on East Coast Demerara

The Guyana Softball League (GSL) has once again thrown its support behind the YOLO Entertainment Group by endorsing their second leg of the 10/10 Challenge Series to be staged on the (ECD) East Coast of Demerara.

According to a release, members of the GSL met the entertainment group on Saturday last at a simple ceremony held at the Yolo Entertainment & Advertising (YEA) office on South Road where plans for the second leg of the tournament were discussed.

Organising secretary GSL, Leonard Harriprashad said that he was satisfied with the work of YOLO Entertainment in the first leg of the competition, pointing out that the group operated in a professional manner while at the same time displaying exceptional management skills.

“The GSL will work in tandem with YEG to ensure that the development of the tournament and the sport of softball cricket reach higher heights,” he added.

The first leg of the tournament was staged on the West Bank and West Coast of Demerara and was exclusively sponsored by Digital Technology along with beverage giants Bank DIH and Creative Jewellery.

Yolo Entertainment said they were optimistic that they will receive more support for the second stage of the competition due to the overwhelming response they received from corporate Guyana and its supporters during the first campaign.

Thirty-two teams are scheduled to participate in the tournament which will see 162 games at three venues over a seven week period. The matches will be contested in a round robin fashion until it reaches the super 16 round where the competition enters the knockout phase.

Due to the nature of the tournament first leg winner’s, male champions Wolf Warriors along with female winners Regal Champs will not be allowed to participate as the organizers seek to crown new champions every round.
A date for part two of the competition has not yet been released by the tournament organizers.
