Auchlyne Primary among the winners

Auchlyne Primary led by  Darel Davis, edged Kildonan Primary as the MCYS, NSC and AL Sport & Tour Promotions 16th Annual End of School Year Primary Schools Windball Cricket Championships continued at the Bush Lot Farm Ground, Corentyne on Friday. Batting first Auchlyne Primary scored 72-2  from their allotted five overs with Davis hitting 32 and Carlos Leitch, 21.

In reply, Kildonan Primary reached 70-6 with Satesh Seenanan and Ahmad George scoring 36 and 18 runs respectively.

In other results,Central Corentyne Primary defeated Mc Gowan Primary by five runs.

Batting first Central Corentyne Primary scored 51-5 led  with Devendra Rydney’s 27 runs the top score.

In reply, Mc Gowan Primary ended on 46-3. Cleford Gray scored 21 runs.

Teon Barry led all scorers with 10 runs as Kildonan Primary 31-2 successfully chased Auchlyne Primary’s score of 30-5 to win by eight wickets while Central Corentyne Primary 44-2 successfully chased Kildonan Primary’s total of 38-2 to win by eight wickets. Gideon Benn top scored for Central Corentyne with 23 runs while Basdeo Chandan scored 13 runs for Kildonan.

In the female division, Kildonan Primary 60-0 crushed Mc Gowan Primary 42-0 by 18 runs. Malissa George top scored with 42 runs for Kildonan while Jennifer De Souza added 13 runs. Lashana Peston scored 21 runs for Mc Gowan while Kayanda France contributed 13 runs.

Central Corentyne Primary 33-0 defeated Mc Gowan Primary 30-4 by 10 wickets. R Lynch  scored 15 runs and collected two wickets for Central Corentyne.

Kildonan Primary successfully defended their total of 57-0 to beat Central Corentyne Primary 53-0 by four runs. Jennifer De Souza top scored with 34 runs for Kildonan while Rushana Lynch and Diana Leitch scored 26 and 19 runs respectively for Central Corentyne.

In the Region 5 Zone, Seafield Primary 38-2 lost to Novar Primary 39-8 by two wickets. Eyonil Sampson and Dequan Solomon scored 17 and 12 runs respectively for Seafield while O’Neil Radaford top scored for Novar with 14 runs.

In the lone female fixture No. 5 Primary 43-1 and Ithaca Primary 43-0 played to a draw. Gangada Sebarat and Jonille Mc Donald scored 15 and 14 runs correspondingly for No. 5 Primary while Yetunde Grant scored 21 not out for Ithaca and Nickola Benjamin added 14 runs.
