Bailey-Cole targets sub 10

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC-Jamaica’s emerging sprinter Kemar Bailey-Cole says he wants to run the 100 metres in less than 10 seconds when he makes his Diamond League season debut at the Adidas Grand Prix in New York on Saturday.

Bailey-Cole, described by many as the ‘next Usain Bolt’ because of their similar physique, has continued to show signs of improvement under coach Glen Mills at the Racers Club, home of  Bolt and training partner Yohan Blake.

“My focus going into New York will be to execute properly,” said Bailey-Cole who closed last season with a 9.97-second clocking in Brussels.

“I most definitely need to work on my start. I would be satisfied with anything under 10 seconds or under 10.09”.

Bailey-Cole has a season best of 10.09, set at the Cayman Invitational earlier this month.
