Bravo to lead T and T, franchise players assigned to teams

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad,  CMC– West Indies One-Day International Captain Dwayne Bravo will lead the Trinidad and Tobago franchise in the upcoming Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 tournament, organizers announced on Wednesday. Operations manager of the CPL, Carlisle Powell also revealed that the foreign franchise player assigned to T&T will be Ross Taylor from New Zealand.

The Franchise players on the Antigua team are West Indian Marlon Samuels and Australian Ricky Ponting, Powell announced to a news conference at the Hyatt Regency in Port-of-Spain. West Indies Test and T20 captain Darren Sammy will play for the St. Lucian Franchise and partnering him there will be the South African Hershelle Gibbs.

Chris Gayle is attached to Jamaica as their franchise player; together with Sri Lankan spin-wizard Mutiah Muralitharan, Trinidad and Tobago’s Sunil Narine and Pakistan’s Mohammed Hafeez have been assigned to Guyana while Keiron Pollard and Shoaib Malik will play for Barbados.
