FIVB to stage grassroots clinic here at month end

The Federation Internationale’ De Volleyball (FIVB), the world body for volleyball administration will to stage a four-day grassroots clinic targeting level one players here from June 24-29.

The goals of the clinic are to outline the importance of volleyball in the community, Schools and beach volleyball which is an Olympic sport.

The Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF) will also play a vital part in hosting the sessions as they seek to improve the standard of volleyball in the country.

A recent meeting between president of FIVB, Dr Ary Graca and GVF President Lenny Shuffler resulted in positive plans for the future of volleyball in the country which, Shuffler indicated, will bring the sport to its highest level in all three counties in Guyana.

Neighboring Brazil is also carded for collaboration with Guyana for the future development of the sport in both countries as Brazil is renowned as one of the most competitive sporting countries who set high standards in their endeavors.

The GVF said it will release more information on the clinic including the time and venue of the sessions in the weeks ahead.
