Golfers to tee off in Trophy Stall tournament today

With  great improvement in the weather golfers will tee off today in the annual Trophy Stall sponsored Golf tournament at the Lusignan Golf Club.

Vice President David Mohamed said the grounds are in very good condition despite recent rainfall so players can look forward to a competitive tournament.

Two tournaments were recently rescheduled due to the rainy weather.

The field is expected to include three previous winners – Brian Hackett who won last year, William Walker, the 2011 champion and Patrick Prashad, the winner of 2010.

Also expected to be in the lineup are  Mohanlall Dinnanauth, Alfred Mentore, Andre Cummings, Mark Lashley, Mike Guyadin, Carlos Adams, Mark Lashley, Clifford Reis, Troy Cadogan, Muntaz Haniff, Munaff Arjune, Christine Sukhram, Colin Ming, Gavin Todd, Kassim Khan, Robert Hanoman, Maurice Solomon, Chatterpaul Deo, Fazil Deo, Kishan Bacchus, Brian Glasford, Dr. Ram Singh, John Tracey, Mike Mangal, Imran Khan and Albert Semple,

Proprietor of Trophy Stall Ramesh Sunich has been lauded by the executives of the Lusignan Golf Club for his continued sponsorship of the tournament.

“We would like to express sincere gratitude to Sunich and Trophy Stall for sponsoring the tournament annually,“ Mohamed said.

Prizes will be awarded to the player with the best net score as well as second and third place finishers.

There will also be prizes for the Best Gross and Nearest to the Pin.

Tee off is at 12:30 hours.

Meanwhile, plans are in place to run off the Safeway Security and Wartsila Guyana Operations tournaments later this month.

Both tournaments were postponed recently due to the weather.
