DIRECTV gives subscribers another sports channel free of cost

- ICC Champions Trophy matches to be shown

The world’s leading operator in digital TV and video experience, DIRECTV has added another sports channel (ESPN Caribbean) to its Caribbean line-up Basic Package at no extra cost.
The initiative brings the total number of free sports channels in the basic package to nine including two other ESPN channels. HD (High Definition) customers also enjoy ESPN HD with their basic subscription.

DIRECTV customers can start enjoying ESPN Caribbean, which will exclusively cover the ICC Champions Trophy Cricket 2013 in the region.

According to DIRECTV Caribbean’s General Manager, Bernard Pantin, “We have been working for a long time towards getting capacity on the pan-regional satellite to be able to add ESPN Caribbean to our channel line-up.

“We are confident that all of our digital customers will be happy to now receive ESPN Caribbean and that it has been worth the wait,” Pantin added.

Putin stated that DIRECTV’s relationship with ESPN Caribbean will now  afford them the opportunity to have multi-screen coverage of all grand slam and golf tournaments every year.
ESPN Caribbean is home to important Regional and International cricket matches.

In addition to the International Cricket Council events, ESPN Caribbean presents the Champions League Twenty20, Caribbean Twenty20, the Caribbean Regional Super50 and Caribbean Regional 4-Day tournaments.

They also hold the rights to one-hour highlight programmes for every match during the West Indies International home tours.
