Wismar/Christianburg, Wisburg Secondary Schools to contest final

The final of this year’s Linden Secondary Schools U19 basketball championships will be contested between Christianburg/Wismar Secondary and Wisburg Secondary Schools following their semi-final wins on Friday at the Mackenzie Sports Club Hardcourt.

In the first semi-final guard Terron Welch scored 48 points to propel Christianburg /Wismar Secondary to a 115-26 points upset win over defending champions Linden Technical Institute.At half time Christianburg/Wismar Secondary led 50-26. Edmar Semple contributed 20 points while Omatayo Holder scored 19.
Marlon Alexander was LTI’s top shooter with 11 points.

In the second semi-final Wisburg Secondary avenged their earlier loss to Linden Foundation Secondary (LFS) edging them out 49-47 in the close contest. Wisburg Secondary led 31-24 at half time.

Aubrey Campbell top scored for Wisburg with 15 points while Tahquille Campbell chipped in with 14.

For LFS, Isaiah Kellman scored 15 points and Vibert Benjamin 13.

The final will take place at a date to be announced.
