Cubie Seegobin, Blake’s agent, has promised a statement to the local media on Blake who had flown to Germany to seek treatment on a bothersome right hamstring.

Blake is being attended to by world-renowned Dr Hans-Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt who has treated several top sports stars, including Blake’s training partner, double world record holder Usain Bolt.

His absence at the World Championships would be a blow to Jamaica’s expected medal haul as well as the men’s 4x100m relay team.

Blake had fitted in after former World Record holder Asafa Powell missed the Daegu World Championships as well as last year’s Olympic Games where Jamaica had set world records of 37.04 seconds and 36.84 seconds, respectively.

Powell will be absent from the team to Moscow after finishing seventh in the men’s 100m finals at the National Senior Championships in pedestrian.

Blake, an Olympic Games double sprint silver medallist, has raced sparingly this season after picking up a hamstring injury in April.
