Nismes/Bagotville FC through a Sebastian Edwards second half double overcame Beavers FC by a 2-1 scoreline when action in the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA) Senior League continued at the Den Amstel, ground on Monday
Conceding the early lead in the Stag Beer tourney compliments of a Clyde Anderson eighth-minute strike, Edwards would level proceedings for the Nismes/Bagotville side with a 59th minute effort. He would complete his brace three minutes later to seal the win.
In the earlier encounter, Seawall FC edged Jetty Gunners by a 3-2 margin. Quessey Alleyne, Tanie Lopes and Adami Hoyte were on target for the victors in the 17th, 63rd and 90th minutes respectively.
Recording goals in a losing effort were Gavin DeCosta and Shawn Williams in the 80th and 91st minutes respectively.
On Saturday at the same venue, Stewartville FC piloted by an Owen McGarrel double in the 35th and 55th minutes hammered De Kinderen FC 5-0. Bruce Smith, Kester David and Donald Bobb completed the rout with goals in the 23rd, 57th and 78th minutes respectively.
In the opening encounter, a Jamal Harvey first half double in the 17th and 33rd minutes led Uitvlugt Warriors to a 5-1 drubbing of Wales FC. Charles Stoby, Jamal Petty and Dwayne Wilson etched their names on the scorer’s sheet in the 20th, 62nd and 75th minutes for the victors.
Reon Gentle was on target for Wales in the 26th minute.
