Littered with broken plays, off side calls and mistimed passes, Legall would score the encounter’s
only goal with a clinical right-footed strike from within the right side of the 18-yard box following a botched headed clearance by the Sophia backline.
At the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue, Dolphin Secondary through doubles by Tequan Clarke in the 11th and 62nd minutes and Leon Richardson in the 25th and 60th minutes pummelled Houston Secondary 6-1.
Shamar Wilson was on target in the 33rd minute for the victors while a Houston own goal in the 50th minute added to the win. Etching his name on the scorer’s sheet in a losing cause was Nkosi Jarvis through a 39th minute strike.
A Jamal Bentick second-half hat trick in the 48th, 50th and 70th minutes powered Leonora Secondary to a 9-1 humbling of Vreed-en-Hoop Secondary at the West Demerara Community Centre, ground.
Netting for the victors was Okasi Stewart in the 27th minute, Alex Moore in the 41st minute, Richard Blackette in the 60th minute, Miguel Williams in the 80th minute and Joel Stephens in the 75th and 86th minutes respectively.
Ash Educational Trust edged Fort Wellington Secondary by a 1-0 score line compliments of a Kevin Layne first-half strike in the 45th minute at the Number Five ground, West Coast Berbice to win the Region Five finals.
At the All Saints ground in New Amsterdam, East Berbice, Berbice Educational Institute (BEI) led by a first half double by Gary Solomon in the 27th and 34th minutes defeated Canje Secondary 5-3.
Registering goals for the victors were Nathan Drake, Omari Benton and Troy Munroe in the fifth, 45th and 56th minutes respectively. Jamal Benjamin netted a double for the losers in the 77th and 81st minutes while Quasey Reed opened their account in the 29th minute.
