Red Steel suffer heavy defeat in CPL warm-up

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad, CMC- Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel crashed to a five wicket loss to Red Force on Tuesday in a warm-up fixture ahead of the Limacol Caribbean Premier League (CPL) set to bowl off next week.

Red Force captain Jason Mohammed blasted 70 not out to lead his side to victory at the Queen’s oval.

Red Steel were restricted to 133 for seven from their 20 overs after Red Force won the toss and sent them in.

Kevon Cooper top scored with 39 before he was run out, Justin Guillen contributed 34 while wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran chipped in with 24.

Mohammed, who was overlooked for the CPL, took charge of the chase smashing three fours and three sixes as Red Force reached their target of 134 for five in 18.2 overs.
He also featured in a 50-run partnership with Yannick Ottley who scored 19.
