Pollydore outsprints Greaves to win Trojan CC 50-mile event

Top veteran rider, Godfrey Pollydore outsprinted in-form Alanzo Greaves to cart off the spoils of the inaugural Trojan Cycle Club (TCC) 50-mile road race yesterday in Berbice.

Pollydore stopped the clock at two hours and 10 minutes for the grueling event which pedaled off at Main and Kent Streets, New Amsterdam.

National cyclist Robin Persaud, Junior Sportsman-of-the-Year Paul DeNobrega, 2011 road race champion, Walter Grant-Stewart and Wazim Gafoor rounded out the top six in that order.
Team Coco’s DeNobrega also pocketed four sprint prizes while three went to Akeem Wilikinson and two apiece to Greaves and Persaud.

The top veteran finishers were Junior Niles, Raymond Newton and Everal Mundy. Niles (two) and Newton (one) also pedaled off with sprint prizes.

Jeban Crawford and Richard Alexander were the top juniors in that order.
