Jamaica scent outright win over Leewards

AT EGSC MOLINEAUX – gave themselves a very good chance of getting an outright victory over the Leeward Islands after destryong the hosts for first innings points on Day 2. Jamaica resumed their first innings on 263/7 on Day 2.

Christopher Powell moved from one run overnight to 25 as Jamaica declared on 304/9. Jeremiah Louis was the pick of the Leewards bowlers, taking 3-55, while Shavon Moore and Shaquille Martina both had two wickets each.

The Leewards in their first turn at the crease was shattered by Ramaal Lewis and Roshane Manning. Both Jamaican bowlers took three wickets each to skittle the Leewards out for just 142, giving their team a lead of 162 runs.

Jeremiah Louis again was Leewards best player, battling hard for his 48. He spent all of 157 minutes at the crease, facing 145 deliveries, stroking three fours and two sixes. He was also the last man out. Opener, Keacy Carty, played well for 38.

Jamaica closed Day 2 on 18/0 in their second innings. The Jamaicans have an overall lead of 180 runs.
