Jamaica seeking to lure controversial striker out of retirement

FORT LAUDERDALE, Florida,  CMC- New Jamaica head coach Winfried Schafer says he will attempt to lure controversial striker Marlon King out of international retirement in an effort to revive his team’s chances of qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Jamaica sit at the bottom of the table in the final CONCACAF qualifying round with two points and must win their four remaining games, including their do-or-die contest against a dangerous Panama away on September 6.

King, 33, who has scored 12 goals in 22 appearances for Jamaica, is regarded as a top striker, but has had a troubled relationship with the national team.
