Hikers win Caribbean Kids Hockey festival

Members from all the competing teams enjoying a photo opportunity following the conclusion of the tournament

Hikers Hockey Club were crowned U19 champions after they pummeled Saints U19 in the final by a 6-1 score line as action in the Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company (GT&T) Caribbean Kids Hockey Festival concluded at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue on Sunday.

Jamarj Assanah would open the scoring for the Hikers unit through a third minute right sided strike. He would complete his brace eight minutes later with a well placed strike to the bottom of the net.

The lanky midfielder would complete his hat trick with a neatly taken strike in the 17th minute to lower left hand corner of the goal. Assanah would seal the win as he completed his helmet trick with a 20th minute effort.  Leon Bacchus and Aroydy Branford completed the
