Fudadin, Permaul, Deonarine for 50-over trials

Assad Fudadin, Veerasammy Permaul and Narsingh Deonarine are among 30 cricketers selected by the Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) for three 50 overs-a-side trial matches set for the ancient county’s landmark ground, Albion Sports Complex.

The matches, scheduled for Sunday, August 25; Tuesday, August 27 and Wednesday, August 28 are being viewed as preparation for the imminent Senior Inter-County 50-Overs Competition which is scheduled to start on September 11.

Permaul and Fudadin, who have both represented the West Indies at the highest levels, will captain the two squads respectively and will focus on keeping themselves in top form before the senior match commences.

Other players who have represented the West Indies in the past and who have been called to play are former West Indies opening batsman Sewnarine Chattergoon and Devendra Bishoo.

Other notable national players and those who represented the West Indies at the under-17 and 19 levels include Shawn Pereira, Romario Shepherd-DeJonge, Keon Joseph, Gudakesh Motie Kanhai, Askay Homraj, Rajiv Ivan and Shimron Hetmyer.

The matches are scheduled to start at 9am each day and the players named must report to the ground not later than 7.45am on Sunday.20130823Cr 290 Table
