Alpha United led by a Marvin Joseph helmet trick thrashed Black Pearl 6-0 as action in the inaugural Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Players Cup recommenced on Thursday at the GFC ground, Bourda.

Joseph would open the scoring in the eighth minute, stabbing home his right-footed effort inside the six-yard area from a left-sided cross. He would double Alpha’s lead seven minutes later through a powerful left- footed volley after latching onto a poorly defended left side cross.

His hat trick would follow in the 26th minute from a powerful right- footed strike from 22 yards out that nestled into the top left hand corner. Joseph completed his tally for the evening one minute later from a right-footed effort that rolled slowly over the goal line.
