Sullinger pleads not guilty

(The Sports Xchange) – Boston Celtics forward Jared Sullinger entered a not-guilty plea yesterday on charges tied to an alleged domestic dispute Saturday.

Sullinger was arraigned on charges of battery, malicious destruction of property and witness intimidation stemming from an alleged incident with his girlfriend, Deann Smith. Bail was set at $5,000.

The Phoenix Suns waived Michael Beasley yesterday, ending the forward’s tenure with the team one year into a three-year deal and one month after his arrest for suspected marijuana possession.
Beasley, who averaged a career-low 10.1 points per game in 2012-13, reached a termination agreement reducing the amount the team will pay him for the remaining two years on his contract.

The Toronto Raptors waived guard-forward Quentin Richardson yesterday, less than two months after acquiring him in a trade with the New York Knicks.

Richardson, who came to Toronto on July 10 along with center Marcus Camby, forward Steve Nash and three future draft picks in exchange for forward Andrea Bargnani, signed with the Knicks in April and played in five playoff games, averaging just under three minutes per contest.
