Inter-ward b/ball tourney gets Giftland support

The Trinity Grid Holdings (THG) Pacesetters Inter-Ward Basketball Tournament was given a much needed boost as Giftland Office Max donated an undisclosed sum towards the running of the event at a simple presentation at the entity’s Water Street location.

Giftland’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Compton Babb in a brief statement noted that the tournament had over the years,

attracted huge fan support and sporting rivalries between the wards which augur well for the game and that the company will continue to support events such as these.

The mega store will also present the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) a brand new basketball. They will also be giving away gifts to the fans via novelty games during the semis and finals of the tourney.

The tournament features twelve competing wards was officially launched on Wednesday September 4th.

These wards are defending champions Albouystown/Charlestown, Wortmanville/Werk-en-Rust, North/South Ruimveldt, Mc Doom/Diamond, Alberttown/ Bourda, Kitty/Campbellville, Plaisance/ Vryheid Lust, Melanie, Buxton, Lodge/ Meadowbrook, East/West Ruimveldt and Tucville/Guyhoc.
