Plaisance/Vryheid’s Lust look for semi-final place

-Mackeson inter-ward b/ball

The quarter-final round of the Mackeson-sponsored Trinity Grid Holdings (TGH) Pacesetters inter-ward basketball tournament continues today at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Mandela Avenue with a double header.

The feature matchup at 21:30hrs will see Plaisance/Vryheid’s Lust opposing Lodge/Meadowbrook in a keenly anticipated showdown.

Dominant throughout their campaign following lopsided victories over Tucville/Guyhoc and East/West Ruimveldt, the East Coast outfit, led by quartet of Nikkoloi Smith, Shelroy Thomas, Enoch Matthews and Nicholas Cassius, will aim to book a final four spot when opening whistle sounds.

Confident following their dismantling of Buxton, Lodge/Meadowbrook will depend on the trio of Mortimer Stewart, Pelham Doris and Drunson McCulley to pull off what would be the tournament’s biggest upset when jump ball begins.

In the opening fixture at 20:00hrs, East Bank Demerara side McDoom/Diamond marshalled by the pair of Travis Burnett and Tyrone Hamid will lock horns with Wortmanville/Werk-en-Rust and their trio of Randy Richardson, Joslyn Crawford and Naylon Loncke.
