Trinidad and Tobago player adjudged best blocker

NEBRASKA, United States, CMC-Trinidad and Tobago player Sinead Jack was adjudged the best blocker in the Norceca Continental Championship which ended here in Nebraska over the weekend.

Jack copped the award after leading her team to a sixth place in the tournament played at the Ralston Arena, Omaha. He led in blocks, 15, at an average of 1.07 per set while the Calypso Spikers were also the best blocking team overall, with 2.93 per set, just ahead of tournament winners, USA, 2.92.

Jack, who has played professionally in Poland and who recently signed to Uralochka-NTMK Sverdlovsk Reg of Russia, was also listed to the Tournament’s All-Star team.

Other notable performers for T&T were France-based Darlene Ramdhin, Channon Thompson who were eighth, ninth in scoring with 54, 49 points respectively.

Ramdin was also the tournament’s third best spiker.

USA’s tournament triumph earns them the confederation’s automatic berth into the FIVB Grand Champions Cup to be held from November 12-17 in Nagoya and Tokyo, Japan.
