Griffith elected president of Little Diva Flames FC

Lawrence `Sparrow’ Griffith was elected President of the newly-formed Little Diva Flames Football Club at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) office in Section K Campbellville on Saturday.

The new president in  an invited comment said:“I hope to carry out the mandate of the club’s constitution. We are fully prepared to enable and ensure that the girls are fully equipped tactically and technically to be able to represent the country.”

Dr. George Norton was elected vice president while Charmain Wade and Carlica Pollydore will occupy the secretary and assistant secretary/treasurer posts respectively.

The elected committee members are Monica Ferreira and Sibby Sancho. The vacancy that exists in the treasurer’s position is expected to be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found. The coaches identified to train and develop the team are Joseph “Bill” Wilson and Sheron “Sherry” Abrams. The club will commence training at a ground to be named on October 12 from 09:00 hrs.

In the initial period the club said training will take place every Saturday with the hope of training on Thursdays in the future. The aims and objectives of the club as per the constitution are to promote, foster and develop all aspects of the game of association football among females in Guyana.
