LABA/Trophy Stall championships… Retrieve Raiders beat Wismar Pistons

Retrieve Raiders defeated Wismar Pistons 53-43 when action in the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA)/Trophy Stall Championships continued at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) hard court on Wednesday night.
Raiders were led by a game high 18 points from their skipper and tournament leading scorer Neil Marks while forward Nicky Barnes assisted with 16 points. Leading the scoring for the losing side was Mark Louis and Dwight Cooper who netted 11 points apiece.

The second game of the evening between the Kashif and Shanghai Kings and Half Mile Bulls was halted due to rain. At the time of the interruption, the Kings were ahead 28-17 in the second quarter. The match has been rescheduled for a later date.
Action continues tomorrow at the same venue with a doubleheader. In the opening fixture at 7pm, Wismar Pistons will battle Bankers Trust Falcons. The feature contest at 9pm will see the Kashif and Shanghai Kings opposing the Amelia’s Ward Jets.
