Windies A held to a draw, lead series

SHIMOGA, India, CMC – West Indies A and India A drew their second unofficial Test  yesterday, with the touring side holding a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Propelled by Kraigg Brathwaite’s 104, the West Indies A posted 223 in their second innings before play was called off on the fourth day. Resuming on their overnight score of 28 the Windies A lost three wickets until the end of day’s play.

While Brathwaite remained unbeaten, Narsingh Deonarine made 93 before being trapped leg-before by Bhargav Bhatt.

The left-arm spinner had also claimed WI A skipper Kirk Edwards earlier in the innings while Zaheer Khan had given India A their first wicket of the day by dismissing Kieran Powell.

West Indies A will look to clinch the series with either a win or draw in the final match beginning on Wednesday at Hubli.
