The Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) on Saturday defeated the Guyana National Industrial Corporation (GNIC) by four wickets to win the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Brainstreet limited overs competition.
Playing at the DCC ground in Queenstown, GNIC batting first scored 81 all out in 33 overs with Stephon Campbell, 18, Tavin Singh, 13 and Andrew Clifford, 10, the principal scorers.
Bowling for DCC, Sagar Hetheramani captured 3-9, Ronnell Brandis, 2-7, and Ashmead Nedd 2-12.
In reply, DCC scored 83-6 wickets in 30 overs with Raymond Perez topscoring with 32 while Ashmead Nedd and Alpino Bookie were not out on 12 and nine runs respectively.
Bowling for GNIC, Clifford took 2-20, Bhaskar Yadram 2-25 and Joshua Persaud 1-27.
Perez was named man of the match.
