K&S Kings beat Half Mile bulls 56-42

Action continues today with a double-header in Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA)/Trophy Stall Championships after the Kashif and Shanghai Kings defeated the Half Mile Bulls 56-42 in Wednesday’s game at the Mackenzie Sports Club hard court.

Marvin Hartman led the win with 15 points while Omally Sampson and Steve Neil Jr. contributed 11 and 10 points respectively.

Leading the scoring for the losers were Keon Cameron and Michael Turner who netted 12 and eight points correspondingly.

Losing the opening period by an 11-7 margin, the Bulls would outscore the Kings 10 points to nine as they went into the half trailing by three points with scores at 20-17.

The pivotal third quarter would prove to be a closely contested affair as the Kings edged the Bulls 13-12 to go into the fourth leading 33-29. The fourth period would also prove to be a high scoring affair for the Kings as they netted 23 points while restricting the Bulls to 13 points to seal the victory.

Action continues today at the same venue with a double header. The opening fixture, set for 7.30pm, will see the Bankers Trust Falcons oppose Block 22 Flames. The feature match-up at 9.30pm will see the K&S Kings facing off against the Retrieve Raiders.
