third and 20th minutes respectively.

The Mocha-based side was given the perfect start in the opening period as Jones found the back of the net in the very first attack of the game, tapping home from just inside the penalty area after receiving a Dorville Stewart cross from the left flank.

Ramsay quickly doubled the lead, wrong-footing the GFC custodian as he accidentally mistimed his right footed strike only for the ball to trickle into the left hand corner of the net.

His namesake Stephon would seal their progression to the semi-final stage, converting his right-footed strike from the penalty spot following a hand ball infraction by the GFC defender inside the area.

In an invited comment, Coach Lloyd Millington told this newspaper that the team stuck to its plan and despite some changes emerged victorious.

“We played to our game plan in the first half hour. After being up three goals, we got complacent and GFC picked up their intensity. They dominated the possession in the second half,” Millington said. “However, I am always grateful for a win but we could have done better,” he said.
