Barrington leads Bermine to upset win over Rose Hall Town and place in final

Shemroy Barrington’s half-century led Bermine to a 16-run win over Rose Hall Town Gizmos in their semi-final match of the 2013 Universal DVD first-division T20 cricket competition Sunday at the Port Mourant ground.

In the match played at Port Mourant ground, Bermine successfully defended their total of 146 for 4 from their allotted 20 overs. Barrington scored a solid 65 which included four boundaries and two maximums and he received support from Keion De Jesus (39), Romario Shepherd-DeJonge (13) and Damien Vantull (14 not out).

Eon Hooper was the pick of the bowlers grabbing 2 for 9 from 4 overs.

Chasing 147 for a win, Rose Hall Town slipped to 130 for 6 in their 20 overs with Jason Sinclair 38 not out, Dominique Rikki, Rajiv Ivan, 22 and  Delbert Hicks, 19.

Bowling for Bermine, Barrington returned to take 2 for 20 from three overs while Kevin Pellew took 2 for 24 from four overs and Devon Clements 1 for 21 from four overs.

Bermine will now turn their attention to opponents West Berbice who they will face off against in the final of the competition on Sunday at Albion.
