NBS second division 40-overs cricket …Seafield teams advance

Seafield teams pulled out all the stops over the weekend to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2013 New Building Society (NBS) Second Division 40-overs Cricket Competition played in Berbice, according to the summarized scores provided by the Berbice Cricket Board.

Led by Roshan Gafoor’s 58, Cotton Tree Die Hard made 211 in 39.2 overs beating Fyrish by 19 runs,despite former Berbice under-19 batsman Javed Mohamed hitting 62.

All-rounder Balram Persaud slammed 75 to help No. 48 Challengers reach 171 all-out in 30.5 overs as Skeldon Community Centre completed an easy 6-wicket victory over them thanks to Darshanan Chalitar’s unbeaten 61.

Off-spinner Michael Felix picked up 5 for 36, as the former Berbice U19 cricketer helped Rose Hall Town Bakewell restrict Rainbow Generation to 167. Bakewellwere then destroyed by Keino Gravesande 3 for 16, Julian Fraser 2 for 23, Tyson Carmichael 2 for 27.
