As part of the activities to commemorate the 29th death anniversary of the Founder Leader Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham, the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) on Wednesday launched the Forbes Burnham Research Institute (FBRI).

City clean-up continuing

The government clean-up exercise in some areas of Georgetown is continuing and yesterday, Minister of Local Government and Regional Development Norman Whittaker along with Member of Parliament Manzoor Nadir, Town Clerk (ag) Carol Sooba, City Engineer (ag) Ron Eastman and other officials visited some of the areas.

Coast Guard interdicts nine vessels for maritime breaches

The Guyana Defence Force today said that operators of nine fishing vessels felt the brunt of law enforcement when its Coast Guard, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture’s Fisheries Division conducted a joint maritime patrol, along Guyana’s coast from Port Georgetown to Anna Regina in the Essequibo, on Wednesday.

AFC files confidence motion

The AFC yesterday formally submitted its motion of no-confidence against the government to the Clerk of the National Assembly Sherlock Isaacs and it is expected to come up in the October session.

Guyana’s rice exports to rise by 50,000 tonnes
