A Brazilian woman is dead following a collision in the Mazaruni River this afternoon.
At approximately 1pm today, two vessels collided in the vicinity of an area known as All-Boys, a release from the Maritime Administration Department (MARAD) said.
The Brazilian woman was reportedly killed during an ensuing fire.
MARAD has sent a team to the Mazaruni area to commence an investigation into this incident. More information will be available later.
