Bartician is Courts millionaire

Courts Guyana Inc. ended its “Become a millionaire only at Courts” promotions yesterday. The final millionaire was Winsdell Edwards from Bartica and the eleven others who participated in the promotion won themselves prizes.

Edwards who travelled all the way from Bartica was the lucky winner of the coveted one million dollars prize. Edwards almost missed the chance of winning the million dollars.

He told Stabroek News that the boat that he was travelling in from Bartica broke down en route to Parika. However, as fate would have it, he made it and the rest was history. “I really feel so happy about winning”, declared Edwards, as he further stated, that he plans to use the money on his four children’s education. had purchased a television set from the Courts Bartica branch.

Leon Scotland traded in the ticket stub with the Island home set that he would have won for $200,000 offered by the Hostess of the promotion, Nuriyyih Gerrard. Valarie Stoll and Wayne Murray won themselves Frigidaire freezers, Naomi Narinedut and Deokarran Armogan both won two-piece sectional suites, Debra David and Norman Blounte won 32’’ Television sets (TCL and HD LED respectively).

Courts shoppers had to spend $5,000 or more at any Courts branch across Guyana from November 7 to December 31, 2013 to be eligible to win.  Twelve names were then drawn weekly and those persons had a chance of winning one million dollars and other grand prizes.

The cash value of the promotion was over $30 million.
