A police constable is currently hospitalized after he was shot in his right foot by another rank who was clearing his gun.
Up to late yesterday afternoon, Samuel Elvis of Vreed-en-Hoop, West Coast Demerara was hospitalized at the Georgetown Hospital (GPH) Theatre. His condition was said to be stable.
Police said at about 7:45am yesterday, Elvis was shot to his right foot after a round was discharged by another rank while clearing his firearm at Police Headquarters, Eve Leary.
Investigations are in progress.
