Labourer charged over hitting woman with chair

Accused of hitting a woman with a chair, a GT Recyclers’ labourer was yesterday granted bail when he appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer the assault charge.

Mark Thomas, 46, of 165 Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt strongly denied that he assaulted Sabrina Noble in front of an eatery in the vicinity of King Street.

The man’s attorney Paul Fung-a-Fat explained to the court that his client had mistakenly hit the woman as he had been walking along the street. According to Fung-a-Fat the woman had attacked his client with bottles.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones had no objections to bail.

Hence, the father of two was approved bail of $15,000 by Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan and will return on April 7 before the Chief Magistrate to have his matter heard again.
