Woman charged with maliciously damaging judge’s car

A woman accused of damaging the fender of a judge’s car was yesterday granted bail when she appeared before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts to answer to the charge.

Sarah Pigot, 29,  denied that she, on April 13, on Sheriff Street, unlawfully and maliciously damaged the left rear fender of PRR505. According to Prosecutor Deniro Jones, the $8,000 fender was the property of Justice Navindra Singh.

Attorney-at-law Latchmi Rahamat represented Pigot and requested reasonable bail. She noted that her client had no prior or pending matters.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones raised no objections to bail, which was set by Magistrate Ann McLennan in the sum of $25,000.

Pigot will return to court on May 14 when she will make her appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry.
