Fines, community service for duo nabbed with ganja

Two Albouystown men were fined yesterday after admitting to being in possession of cannabis.

Mark Denny and Dexter Klass were searched by policemen patrolling Albouystown on April 14. Upon inspection it was discovered the men were in possession of the illegal substance.

Denny was found with four grammes of cannabis and Klass with one gramme.

The men, who pleaded guilty to the charge before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, were each fined $3,000 and ordered to perform six months of community service.
