Family receiving threats after Albouystown slaying

The family of Orvin Milton, the man who was gunned down in Albouystown early Thursday morning, is receiving threats, according to the dead man’ sister.

Milton, 30, of WW7 North East La Penitence, was shot dead by a masked assailant while playing cards with friends in a yard at Curtis Street, Albouystown.

Witnesses said the man shouted, “You remember me? Eh!” before firing a single shot at Weekes, indicating that the man knew his killer.

A post mortem examination (PME) done on his body yesterday found that he died of a single gunshot to the head. Members of Weekes’ family had said they had no idea who would have wanted to take his life.

Yesterday, Abby Weekes, Orvin Milton’s sister, told Stabroek News yesterday that she and the family are now fearful for their lives since the shooting. She said they have heard through the grapevine that threats are being directed to the family.

She said the threats were especially disturbing since her other brother, Vibert Weekes died in a similar way four years ago when he was shot multiple times in front of the Red Dragon club.
