Yesterday’s sitting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) was cancelled after a prolonged power outage left its members in the dark for more than an hour.

When committee members turned up for the meeting at 14:00 hrs, the power was on but the lights went out soon after. More than an hour later the power was still out, and it seemed that there was some trouble activating the back-up generator usually utilised by Parliament Office.

As the power outage pushed the meeting’s commencement back by more than an hour, members of the PAC decided to cancel yesterday’s sitting.
