Pomeroon man killed in Greenwich crash

At about 1330h today police say that Paul Gonsalves, 21 years, of Pomeroon, Essequibo River, was in a motor vehicle travelling along the Public Road at Greenwich, East Bank Essequibo when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a utility pole.

Gonsalves suffered injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Leonora Cottage Hospital. Another passenger, Gillian Raphael, 23 years, of Pomeroon, also sustained injuries and has been admitted to the Leonora Cottage Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
